Sure is Funky : Six feet high

Fri 28 April| Victoria Stakes | 8pm-1am

Our hibernation is over.

Once again it’s time to play excellent music to excellent people. And we hope you’ll be there to join us.

On 28 April we’ll be digging out some of our favourite old records, and a couple of favourite new records too. (Yes we will have some of the classic re-pressed De La Soul for sure. RIP Dave/Trugoy the Dove).

A mix of funk, disco, old-school hip hop and a bit of Northern Soul too. If you’ve been to any of our parties before you know the score.

Tickets remain at £12.50 each (+bf). The venue is upstairs at The Victoria Stakes. And the sound system will again be provided by our god friends at Audio Gold.

Hope to see you on the dance floor.

Spread the word. Tell your mates.
Dust down your dancing shoes.
And smile.
We all need to smile

So What is

Sure Is Funky?

We’ve been running parties for the last five years or so in North London playing a mix of funk, northern, disco, hip hop and rare groove.

We played our first party in Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre (where we both work) expecting maybe 50 or 60 friends to come along out of a sense of duty.

But we were delighted to be proved wrong.

When we sold out the Supper Room on that first night we knew we were on to a good thing. And we’ve been putting on parties ever since.

We love the music we play. But what really makes our parties work is the people who come. An amazing crowd who all have one thing in common – a desire to dance and have a good time.

And for that, we thank you.

Currently on the Sure Is Funky office playlist
