Do you fancy dancing One Night in September? In a Boogie Wonderland? (sorry, we’ll stop with the EWF references now)
So how was your summer? Hope it was hot, but not too hot.
Either way we’re saving a bit of late summer heat for the dance floor. And we hope to see you there.
On 29 September we’ll be digging out some of our favourite old records, and a few we picked up over the Summer too.
A mix of funk, disco, old-school hip hop and a bit of Northern Soul too. If you’ve been to any of our parties before you know the score.
Tickets remain at £12.50 each (+bf). The venue is upstairs at The Victoria Stakes. And the sound system will again be provided by our good friends at Audio Gold.
Hope to see you there. Fans and flares entirely optional.
Spread the word. Tell your mates. Dust down your dancing shoes. And smile. We all need to smile
So What is
Sure Is Funky?
We’ve been running parties for the last five years or so in North London playing a mix of funk, northern, disco, hip hop and rare groove.
We played our first party in Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre (where we both work) expecting maybe 50 or 60 friends to come along out of a sense of duty.
But we were delighted to be proved wrong.
When we sold out the Supper Room on that first night we knew we were on to a good thing. And we’ve been putting on parties ever since.
We love the music we play. But what really makes our parties work is the people who come. An amazing crowd who all have one thing in common – a desire to dance and have a good time.
Want to check out some of the tunes we’re pretty much bound to play on the night?
